February 2022 Portfolio update: market crash continues

Before starting I would like to ask everyone to donate to help the victims of the war in Ukraine. The best thing to do is to go to websites or facebook pages of the local embassy on facebook and see what they need. For example in Belgium they strongly ask for donation of medical supplies.

I donated about 200 EUR myself as well already.

I know this update came a lot later then expected, and I have been very slow on YouTube videos but thats only because I spend most of my free time protesting & volunteering for Ukraine. I have been helping out sort and packaging humanitarian goods that will be send there.

  • My Net Worth dropped again but much less then last month. Only 2000 EUR this month to 565000 EUR. This gives me some hopes that it is slowing down.
  • The drop in my stock portfolio this month was about 2-3%. Quite large but less painful then in January.

Near end of February I thought the worst was over in the stock market. At least until Putin decided to invade his neighbors. Since then there is a lot of uncertainty in the market and this could last until a peace treaty is signed.

In the current market of course I considered to invest in commodities, but I figured that trough my indexes I am indirectly already exposed to companies working with these commodities and for now I will just stay the course and stay away from other investments.

It could be that in 5 years we look back at this and think that this was a really good time to invest in stocks.

Lets find out how my portfolio did this month and what changes I made.

Image result for I am not a financial advisor

My Portfolio

My Portfolio has decreased to 239186 EUR (-4448). So a big decrease despite of an extra 1700 EUR investment. Of course I plan to continue to invest monthly, especially now when there is max fear in the market.

ETFs

The core of my long term strategy is ETF‘s.

I sold the $QQQ and went into $VWCE instead. I don’t know if it was the right dec

SPDR MSCI World UCITS ETF ($AMS:SWRD)
ISHSIII-CORE MSCI WORLD U.ETF ($EUNL)
ISHSV-MSCI ACWI ($IUSQ)
Vanguard FTSE All-World U.ETF ($VWCE)

Cultured meat / Tech Portfolio

I am pretty red in this portfolio but when I look at all the stocks inthere I see no reason to change my strategy and for now I will just hold the course.

Agronomics especially has been severely beaten but the results of the companies and the large value increases of these companies continue to confirm that this is the right investment for me. I plan to add a YouTube Video to my channel soon updating its status.

Agronomics ($ANIC)
MeaTech 3D ($MITC)

AppHarvest ($APPH)

Intel ($INTC)

Crypto

$CRO.X was my only investment that actually increased in value this month.

I also have the Jade card here and that is the main reason why I am into CRO.

If you want to use my referral link to get a crypto.com visa card, you can use it here, then both of us will get 25$. I’ve been using mine since October 2021 and I am happy with the 3% cashback, free Netflix, Free Spotify & Free Airport Lounge access.

You need to stake an amount of $CRO.X to get a card, but you do not lose your money. You stake it for 6 months and then you can take it back out if you need it. Myself I have staked 3500 EUR for the Indigo card and the value of the coin doubled since then and of course I will get some additional money for staking (10% p.a. on the Indigo card).

There is no fees on the crypto.com credit card!

Real Estate

I currently owe one apartment that I purchased in 2010 for 136.000. I got it re-estimated in 2020 at it was valued at 185.000 EUR. I did a re-evaluation of my apartment that values it at 199245 EUR. It is both related to a general rise in apartment prices of 6-7% and the value of apartments in my region. This contributed over half to the increase of my Net Worth.

According to immoweb its valued more then what I have written now, but I only revalue it once a year and that’s in June.

Startups

One of my startup investments has let me know that they are having trouble to stay afloat and needs new investors urgently.

A second startup (Barnaby) has basically defaulted, so I removed this investment.

Right now I have 2700 EUR still active in startups.

I am using Spreds to purchase these startups.

Check out this post if you want to know how you can invest in startups.

Peer to Peer

I actually got money back from p2p for the first time. About 27% got transferred to me (or 296,57 EUR) from the lawsuit with Kuetzal. Its a start! I had already defaulted this.

Additionally I managed to withdraw some from Mintos from the very first time. About 25 EUR!

I am left with only 4 peer to peer investments left, 3 I have considered to be in default. I have not defaulted on Mintos yet as there is a payment plan to get back the money in the next 2-3 years

Nothing new on CrowdEstor. I am just waiting for what will happen with my last 100 EUR investment there. I have already defaulted this investment in my portfolio.

I am in several law suits. One with Grupeer where I am being represented by Ellex and part of the Grupeer Armada. Contact them on Telegram here

I am also in a law suit with Kuetzal, where I am represented by Magnusson. Look for the Telegram group “Kuetzaldiscussion” to find the armada there.

I expect to get some really good news in Q1 about Kuetzal.

Retirement funds

I get an update just once a year, so I will update it also just once a year. This is from end of 2021. I will update it again in December 2022.

Savings

This was last updated on 31-12-2021.

My savings went down with about 13k since end of April, which is fine, I want to lower this amount and have more invested. A conservative target for this amount would be about 50k or 2 years of expenses.

I just update this twice a year, namely in June and December, as I don’t think its very spectacular to write about my savings here.

Unless something big happens of course, such as a real estate purchase.

  1. Hug losses are relative I would say. I got hit hard due to BABA and Tencent. I recovered some thanks to yesterday’s rally but still down but a lot. I think overall, you did quite well. Keep it up! Also with the videos.
